Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) is the newest technology in the Physiotherapy realm. Light used is usually within the spectrum of 600nm – 905nm, that is to be able to penetrate the skin, soft and hard tissue. The reason this is utilised in Physiotherapy treatment is that it has been found to have excellent effects on pain, inflammation, and tissue. This treatment requires to be applied to a painful site for 30-60 secs, multiple times over multiple session. Usually, 4-6 sessions are recommended.

Your Physiotherapist will assess the appropriate dosage over and how many sessions will be required for a therapeutic effect and structural changes.

The effects of the LLLT are Photochemical and not thermal. That means it goes deep into the tissue to help the cell turn over and increase the healing process. This decreases the time of the inflammation and help the tissue to repair appropriately.

Low Level Laser Therapy is available at our locations in Woodville South, Torrensville, Lightsview, Kilkenny and Holden Hill.
